DRAYTON MANOR HIGH SCHOOL

Welcome to Drayton Manor High School Attendance Hub

Ambition - Character - Civic Virtue

Our school community is diverse and harmonious: 52% of students are EAL, 36% Pupil Premium and 23% SEND. Post pandemic, the school has made attendance a central focus of its work given the positive impact of attendance in all aspects of a student's school life. To promote high levels of attendance, the school has introduced effective programmes like ‘return to school’ meetings and free breakfast available for all. These will be explored throughout our Attendance Hub programme.

Aim of the Hub

Attendance is one of the biggest challenges facing the school system today. The aim of school attendance hubs is to enable schools to share practices with senior leaders in other similar schools to help us all to improve.
Hubs will also facilitate an ongoing professional dialogue about attendance amongst school leaders on a peer support basis.

Overview

As a hub, we intend to share, in-depth, our strategies and resources for improving attendance.

Schools who join the hub will have access to half termly virtual hub meetings run by us as an opportunity to share practice and discuss shared challenges with others. Participants will be expected to use learning and approaches from the hub to revise their schools’ existing systems for managing attendance to drive improvement.

Support is open to all state-maintained schools including primary, secondary, special schools and alternative provision providers. The programme is intended for senior leaders with oversight of attendance.

Our Programme

Our bespoke programme is designed to break up the processes, systems and structures to help support rapid changes with attendance practices. Over each half term, we will host a virtual meeting focusing on each module detailed below. There will be breakout rooms with questions and discussion time to help support your school with attendance challenges. Please click on the modules below for the agenda and practical resources.
