Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association

The PTA raises funds for the school and it also helps to provide curriculum information for parents. Over recent years, we have raised more than £21,000: only the students and school benefit from these funds and to date we have been able to provide

• extra curriculum resources across every subject
• numerous rewards for student achievement
• theatre events
• valuable equipment such as digital cameras, sewing machines, microscopy equipment and hydrogen-powered cars
• a digital piano
• art supplies
• software, lighting and film production kit
• mentoring resources
• a wealth of items for classrooms and teaching aids

Every single department in the school benefits from these additional funds and so your child will also have benefited. There is no subscription fee and you will automatically be a member for as long as your child attends the school.

What do you get out of becoming more involved in the PTA?

• A sense of belonging to the school community
• Get to find out a little more about what’s going on in the school
• Get to know some of the teaching staff
• Contribute directly to your own child’s schooling
• Give something back to the school community
• Contribute to discussions about how the money raised is spent
• Bring new ideas to the table
• Have some fun! We do have a few ‘socials’ which are a great way to get to know some other parents

Following feedback this year, we would also like to start a uniform re-purposing service with the aim of providing students with professionally-cleaned second-hand school uniform for a donation. If you feel you could help the school with this, or spare a little time to help out in another way, please email PTA@draytonmanorhighschool.co.uk or come along to our next meeting (dates below).

Car boot sales

Unfortunately, our regular Car Boot Sales have been temporarily postponed for this year as we are in the process of recruiting a new manager to oversee the event. We understand this may be disappointing for our regular visitors and sellers, and we sincerely appreciate your patience during this time.

Easyfundraising

Easyfundraising is a free service that allows charities and good causes to raise money when their supporters shop online with over 2,700 retailers, including Amazon, John Lewis, Next and Argos.

You can find more information and start shoppinghere– selecting as your fundraising cause 'Drayton Manor High School PTA'. When you shop online you will be prompted as to retailers which donate to easyfundraising.

PTA meetings

The PTA meets regularly to talk about fundraising activities, discuss issues related to the school, and to get an update from the Senior Leadership Team representative on recent school activities and initiatives. The meetings are very relaxed so if you just want to come along to the occasional meeting, that’s absolutely fine.

PTA events have taken place this year so far on 9 September and 3 March. Some details of what was covered can be found below.
