Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association

Welcome to the Parent TeacherAssociation (PTA) of Drayton Manor High School.

The PTA raises funds for the school and it also helps to provide curriculum information for parents. Over recent years we have raised over £21,000. Only the students and school benefit and last year we provided funds for extra curriculum resources across every subject, numerous rewards for student achievement, a digital piano, art supplies, software, lighting and film production kit, mentoring resources, funding towards training three staff for BELA qualifications to enable staff to run the Duke of Edinburgh award anda wealth of items for classrooms and teaching aids. Every single department in the school benefits from these additional funds and so your child will also have benefited. There is no subscription fee and you will automatically be a member for as long as your child attends the school.

What you get out of becoming more involved in the PTA:

  • A sense of belonging to the school community
  • Get to find out a littlemore about what’s going on in the school
  • Get to know some of the teaching staff
  • Contribute directly to your own child’s schooling
  • Give something back to the school community
  • Contribute to discussions about how the money raised is spent
  • Bring new ideas to the table
  • Have some fun! We do have a few social events which are a great way to get to know some other parents.

The PTA section lists the dates for all PTA events - the PTA meetings, quiz suppers, curriculum evenings and the car boot sales.

Car Boot Sales

These events, which run on Saturday mornings, from April through to September each year, are our main fundraising activity. They take place at the school playing fields on the corner of Greenford Avenue and Ruislip Rd East, W7 3DD. The sales have become very successful and we always need volunteers to help to run them. Just a little bit of your time would make a big difference to the few parents who are already involved.

Everyone involved in the car boot sales finds them huge fun and all volunteers are entitled to free entry as a seller once in the season.

2019 Car Boot Sales

In 2018, Car Boot Sales raised £10,000 for the school. The dates for Car Boot Sales in 2019 are as follows:

  • 13 and 27 April
  • 11 and 25 May
  • 8 and 22 June
  • 6 and 20 July
  • 3, 17 and 31 August
  • 14 and 28 September

Gates are open to sellers from 6.30am. Please join the queue on the Ruislip Road East from the Argyle Road / Gurnell Leisure Centre direction. Please be aware that sales sometimes have to be cancelled if the ground is soft due to rain in the days leading up to a sale, or if there is rain on the morning. Please call 07787 608 210 where a message will be left if we have had to cancel due to the weather.

PTA Meetings

The PTA meets regularly to talk about fundraising activities, discuss issues related to the school, and to get an update from the Senior Leadership Team representative on recent school activities and initiatives. The meetings are held at 6pm on Mondays. The meetings are very relaxed so if you just want to come along to the occasional meeting, that’s absolutely fine.

PTA meetings have taken place on 24 September 2018 and 28 January 2019. The next meeting will take place on 13 May 2019. We look forward to seeing you there.
